Seafin is always a much-loved sight on local shores, she has been cruising across Southampton Water for over 25 years. Fondly described by those who know her well as ‘part of The Solent’s furniture’ Seafin has finished her seasonal Winter maintenance and been relaunched for the 2024 season which commences in April. This season she has been fitted with two brand-new reconditioned engines, with sea trials taking place before her commercial charters.

Built in 1961 of pitch pine, with oak frames and a teak deck, Seafin was one of the last wooden vessels built by John J Thorneycroft of Southampton. With an intriguing history, she was once owned by the well-known Profumo family in 1967. She has been run as a charter vessel since 1986, with 38 years of experience as an event venue. These days she remains moored at Port Hamble Marina and is ready to await guests for a little day of luxury.

A timeless and classical motor yacht representative of a bygone era, she is perfect for a unique day on The Solent. She hosts corporate and private celebration events for up to 30 persons on board and offers a choice of beautiful sailing destinations on the breathtakingly scenic South Coast.

Each year the Solent is home to many yacht racing events, and this year is no different, with a jam-packed and exhilarating 2024 lineup! The biennial Rolex Fastnet Race will return to our shores in 2025!

Round the Island Race,- 15th July 2024
Round the Island Race is a fantastic event that sees world-renowned sailors competing against families, Sailing schools, and first-time racers. Around 1400 yachts take part, making it one of the largest races in the world!

Taittinger Regatta, 12-14 July 2024
Set in the beautiful Western Solent, right near The Needles, this three-day regatta is the ultimate mix of competitive inshore racing and champagne! Sponsored by Taittinger Champagne and hosted by the Royal Solent Yacht Club from Yarmouth, this is a weekend you won\'t want to miss.

Rolex Fastnet Race start line, (Returning 26 July 2025)
The Rolex Fastnet Race is one of the most exciting and challenging offshore races in the world. In the last edition, the entry capacity was full in 4 minutes! This is a seriously popular event! The race starts off Cowes a the Royal Yacht Squadron line, then the fleet heads out of the Solent past The Needles and along the South Coast of England. Demand for places seems to grow each year and is expected to be higher than ever in 2025 with over 450 expected on the start line. Run bi-annually, the event will return to our local shores in 2025!

Cowes Week, July 27 - August 2 2024 (fireworks Friday 2 August)
Since 1826 Cowes Week has played a key part in the British sporting summer calendar and is one of the UK\'s longest-running and most successful sporting events. It now stages up to 40 daily races for around 1,000 boats and is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world.

Little Britain Challenge Cup, 13-14 September 2024
The LBCC is the largest industry regatte in Europe, bringing together hundreds of people from the property and construction industry to sail, socialise and fund-raise. Over the past 30 years, the Little Britain Challenge Cup has raised over £1.25 million!

After many years of fantastic memories the time has come to bid a fond farewell to our Skipper Fred. Fred has been with the company for the past 25 years and is a well known and friendly face with both the team and regular clients. When you step on board deck Fred is usually the first port of call offering a welcome and safety briefing for guests. But his hospitality and friendly nature doesn't stop there.

Always one to welcome people into the wheelhouse during our excursions, he loves company and has been immensly popular part of the crew. An experienced sea farer, Fred has navigated the Solent many times with extensive knowledge of our local shores. Fred was actually involved with Seafin long before he stepped up as Skipper, having previously worked in Hythe Marina slipping the boat and has experience in the marine industry spanning over 40 years!

If the walls could talk on board Seafin they would certainly have some stories to share, like wise does our Skipper Fred!From catching lobsters to bollywood filming on deck he has seen it all and he isn't frightened to get his hands dirty! Having helped with Seafin's winter maintainence buffing, polishing and painting over the years.

We're so sad to see him go however wish him well with his retirement. A heartfelt thank you for his many years of service and the happy memories along the way. Our Operations Manager Paul is working closely with Adam to plan for the season we ahead. Paul has worked closely alongside Fred for many years so is passing on his knowledge and experience as the future of Seafin moves forward.

It was a real pleasure for Seafin to partner with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) providing hospitality for the Foiling Kite European championships on the home waters of Portsmouth.

Such a treat to see the world’s best kite racers from the Olympic circuit whizzing around the waters off Eastney Beach for the title of European champion.

The finals weekend took place 23-24 September and was a free event for specators on the shore.

Seafin's top deck provided the perfect venue to view all the action on the water up close whilst the world’s best riders battled it out just metres away from us.

A big congratulations to Ellie Aldridge from GBR for taking the women’s title.

There were extraordinary scenes on the Solent this weekend as Seafin waved off Tracy Edwards MBE and The Maiden Factor on her Ocean Globe Race.

Covering over 27,000 nautical miles in a sprint across the globe these amazing ladies (one of which is just 18 years of age) have set sail on the adventure of a lifetime!

‘Last weekend I had the best day with my work family. I organised an awesome social event and the whole day was perfect, even the weather was spot on! We had a chartered traditional motor yacht for the day and Seafin Charters took us over to the I.O.W where we anchored up to get the jet skis and paddleboards out, then they laid on a beautiful lunch and drinks were flowing whilst we sailed over to Buckler\'s Hard. The 7.5 hours literally flew by but I guess that’s just the sign of a fab day!

Round the Island is a one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight, with over 1,500 boats, crewed by some of the biggest names in sailing as well as keen amateur sailors, skim past The Needles, the Island’s distinctive rocky structure, round St Catherine’s Point and Bembridge Ledge and back into the Solent. Britain\'s favourite yacht race!

Cowes week is a popular sailing event, which sees thousands of competitors taking part, one of the oldest and most respected regattas in the world. The event lasts for seven days a is a key part of the British sporting summer calendar! One of the UK\'s longest-running and most successful sporting events, this is one not to miss!

We were delighted that The Boat Show returned to local shores in September 2021 for its 52nd edition. A unique place to see the best boats and marine brands all gathered together in one place, the Southampton Boat Show remains to be Britain\'s biggest boating festival.

And for the first time in 2021, the Boat Show showcased an exciting new layout, with 6 amazing zones to explore packed full of boats, gear, advice, and demos! Seafin returned to exhibit in Ocean Hall, where the team showcased Seafin who belongs to our fleet of yachts at Hamble Point Yacht Charters.

Our friendly team alternated days on the exhibit, we took along our rebranded and refreshed boat specifications for each of the yachts on the fleet and our rebranded business cards to hand out at the show. With this being the first show back since the pandemic stuck footfall seemed lighter than previous years but the team still managed to hand out all our yacht charter brochures throughout the duration of the show, which was a first for us, showing that UK sailing and staycations for the coming season appear to still be a hugely popular choice.

The annual regatta of the British Classic Yacht Club. An occasion for classic boat enthusiasts to enjoy great racing and an appreciation of classics. It sees a fleet of over 50 classic yachts put through their paces in the challenging tidal waters of the Solent.

Cowes Week ~ July 31st ~August 7th

We’ve evolved as a business to ensure we remain covid compliant and safely operating within all government guidelines. We’ve updated our booking policy to offer you both flexibility and reassurance when chartering with us.

Subject to government relaxation of restrictions we will be able to offer charters for two groups of up to 6 with a maximum of 12 persons onboard. This permits us to run at 50% capacity and allows for social distancing requirements.

If your idea of a holiday is for somebody else to do the cooking we have an extensive range of meals that can be delivered to the boat. Order in advance, at the time you book your Seafin holiday or give us 24 hours’ notice. The food is prepared to order by a local caterer.

PROVISIONING SERVICE

Complete a Tesco provisioning form and we will do your shopping and deliver it to Seafin (Port Hamble). We will take in on board and put food as necessary into the fridge or freezer.

AFTERNOON TEA

Enjoy a genteel afternoon tea sat on one of Seafin’s decks. We will bring the afternoon tea to Seafin and will leave it to you to open the prosecco!

PICNIC HAMPER

Want a picnic lunch to take with you? We can arrange for a picnic hamper to be delivered to Seafin ready for your day out.

JET SKI TOURS
If you feel the have a need for speed then you can hire our two jet skis for a half-day( 3 hours). We will accompany you in our RIB, escort you out of the river (where a six-knot speed limit applies) and then take you on a high-speed tour of Southampton Water and into the Solent. We can return to Hamble as needed to refuel and swap passengers.

Over 18s only on the jetskis due to insurance requirements.

*Seafin staycations provide accommodation for up to seven persons. Our getaway days are priced for 6 people but additional people from your household can be added upon request.

Winter is well and truly here, the frosty crisp mornings have arrived and Seafin has returned to her mooring at Port Hamble. She is scheduled to be lifted shortly for her winter work to commence.

At this time of year Paul, Seafin\'s Operations Manager is busy undertaking the various maintenance jobs required to keep Seafin looking and working beautifully.

All her essential checks will be carried out and we will be focusing on servicing her sea cocks and the underside of the boat, antifouling and repainting her top and the propel shafts and bearings will be replaced so she\'s ready for an exciting year ahead!

Join us for a decadent afternoon tea on board Seafin during exclusive dates this year. A one of a kind opportunity to enjoy her luxurious surroundings whilst moored at scenic Port Hamble.

Seafin is the largest and most prestigious traditional motor yacht available for charter on the South Coast.

Enjoy her traditional styling and stunning varnished saloon, dine in her large open seating area and enjoy her modern facilities (including AV media system and modern kitchen-galley). Tour the deck at your leisure and take in incredible and unspoiled views of the River Hamble.

A captain and up to 4 crew members will welcome you on board serving our carefully selected quality food and catering. We have worked hard to source the best meats, most delicious fresh scones and and mouth watering sweets for an afternoon you won\'t forget.

This event is just £45 per person, the price includes all your food and catering, unlimited soft drinks, house wines and beers and a complimentary glass of Pimms on arrival.
